ITV Hub reports 13 per cent YoY increase in 2019

Generated 500 million hours of viewer consumption in 2019

ITV’s Hub generated over 500 million hours of viewer consumption in 2019, a 13 per cent increase year-on-year.

The on-demand service announced in October it had reached 30 million registered users, a target it had originally set for 2021.

According to ITV, Love Island was ITV Hub’s most popular show in 2019 across both catch-up and simulcast, although the broadcaster didn’t reveal any figures.

The ITV2 show was also the most popular in terms of audience consumption, followed by Coronation StreetEmmerdaleI’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here and the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Steve Forde, director of digital products, ITV, said: “Reaching this figure demonstrates that not only do viewers love both the Hub’s content and using the service, but that it has evolved to seamlessly allow mass surges in viewing on simulcast and on-demand and in doing so has established itself as one of the biggest video on demand platforms in the UK.”
