Cuez unifies ITV morning production

The Cuez live production platform aims to unify multiple production roles across three back-to-back live shows

Cuez has revealed details of a collaboration with ITV Studios, unifying the management of three back-to-back live productions.

The three daytime magazine programmes, Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning operate from the same studio with the same crews but different presenting teams, graphics and branding. With a requirement to unify the shows via a single platform enabling every production role from building rundowns to management playout, ITV Studios selected Cuez.

Comprising three core elements—Storydesk, Rundown and Animator—the Cuez cloud-based live production platform connects with and controls content creation devices via API or MOS.

Cuez Storydesk combines wire monitoring, story planning, media management and team communications into a unified platform aiming to ensure producers, reporters and editors can stay in sync. Users can define how much or how little AI assists with various processes.

Cuez Rundown allows every team member to edit or update scripts in real-time, directly in the browser from anywhere. Updates appear instantly and scripts can be enriched with media assets tailored for specific productions and integrated with existing systems.

Acting as a control layer, Cuez Automator connects directly to cameras, graphics, lighting, audio and playout scheduling. Using a no-code approach based on logic blocks, the solution turns rundowns into timed, actionable triggers and can be run by a team or single operator.

Barry Thomas, executive director at ITV Studios, said, “Our production teams range in technical ability yet suddenly they all use the same newsroom system and that’s really unique. Other systems don’t offer this sort of full capability.”

“Using one application, we were able to play multiple graphics systems and VT playout systems together very easily,” added Adam Scott, gallery playout operator at ITV Studios. This results in the crew having a clearer view of the show, and less margin for error when transitions between programmes run to minutes.”
