TDC has chosen the Appear TV XC5000 Video Processing Platform to provide encoding and multiscreen transcoding to upgrade all of its live linear broadcast, including the YouSee cable service, OTT and multiscreen offerings. The Appear TV platform has been delivered, tested and is now deployed across 100 linear OTT channels to around 1.2 million TDC subscribers in Denmark and Norway.
This platform has a modular architecture, populating the XC5000 (4U) and XC5100 (1U) carrier-grade chassis’ with a wide selection of interoperable modules. The XC5000 is designed to accommodate customers’ preferred system architectures while reducing complexity.
