‘World first’ agentic AI TV platform debuts

Eliminating the need to navigate numerous menus, the platform understands natural language intent, making decisions and acting on behalf of households

RedSquid TV and Fetch.ai have announced the launch of an agentic AI TV platform, aiming to enhance user experiences by understanding intent.

In what the companies say marks a world first, the combination of RedSquid’s end-to-end TV operating system with Fetch.ai’s technology, enables the platform to understand intent, make decisions and act on behalf of households, with viewers expressing a broad intention rather than navigating multiple menus.

The entire software stack, from chipset integration via the operating system to the on-screen user experience is controlled by RedSquid TV. Embedded edge-AI hooks enable Fetch.ai to specifically tailor its platform accordingly, allowing autonomous AI agents to deeply embed within the operating system itself, said the companies. Evolving as edge-AI capability expands, the agents will execute directly within the television, aiming to reduce latency, lower cloud costs and drive enhanced user experiences.

The agents are able to discover content, compare services, coordinate devices, manage subscriptions, complete purchases, and orchestrate services through natural language commands, added the partners.

Fetch.ai and RedSquid TV said agentic AI creates a “once in a generation opportunity” to reclaim the intelligence layer within the home, as much of the digital experience has migrated to smart TV and smartphone operating systems following investment from telcos.

With the underlying platform owned by RedSquid TV, operators rather than manufacturers or hyperscalers retain control of first-party data, monetisation and AI integration, allowing deeper customer relations and driving the creation of new revenue streams.

Humayun Sheikh, founder and CEO of Fetch.ai, said, “Artificial intelligence is evolving from answering questions to achieving outcomes. The next generation of AI won’t simply assist people—it will act on their behalf. Television remains one of the last major consumer platforms yet to be reimagined for the agentic AI era. RedSquid TV has built something exceptionally rare: complete control of the television software stack, from the chipset to the glass. That provides the foundation needed for agentic AI to become part of the television itself rather than another cloud service layered on top.”

Trevor Neal, founder and CEO of RedSquid TV, added, “Television is about to stop being something you watch and become something that works on your behalf. Our unique architecture allows us to integrate Fetch.ai’s technology directly into the operating system, creating a platform where agentic AI becomes native to the television itself. For operators and pay-TV providers, this is strategically important. It enables them to retain ownership of the customer relationship, the data and the commercial ecosystem while delivering an entirely new generation of AI-powered services. We believe this represents the  biggest shift in television since the transition from broadcast to streaming.”

The platform combines:

  • RedSquid TV’s edge-AI-enabled operating system, RedSquid OS, provides complete control of the television software stack from chipset to screen, enabling agentic AI to run natively within the television rather than solely in the cloud.
  • Fetch.ai’s ASI:One, a model that RedSquid uses to generate AI-driven answers.
  • Agentverse, delivers more of a personalised experience as your agent interacts with other agents. It enables specialised AI agents to discover, collaborate and execute complex tasks.
  • Fetch Business, allowing verified retailers, brands and service providers to deliver trusted agentic AI  services directly through the television.

One of the earliest investors in DeepMind, Sheikh, has made a personal investment in RedSquid TV and joined the company’s board.
