Film and TV Charity launches latest Looking Glass survey with call to action

The annual survey tracks mental health in the screen industries to provide the clearest, most up‑to‑date picture of what it’s really like to work in the sector

The UK’s Film and TV Charity is calling on both permanent and freelance industry workers to share their experiences in its latest Looking Glass survey.

The annual survey tracks mental health in the screen industries to provide the clearest, most up‑to‑date picture of what it’s really like to work in the sector—regardless of whether that work is on set, in production offices, post-production, or office roles.

Talking about the ambition for the 2026 edition of the Looking Glass Survey, Film and TV Charity CEO, Marcus Ryder, said: “ Insights from previous Looking Glass surveys have helped us expand mental health support through our Film and TV Support Line, launch a confidential Bullying Advice Service and Wellbeing at Work support, and create practical tools like the free Whole Picture Toolkit for Mentally Healthy Productions – now used on more than 500 productions.

“So, regardless of where in the industry you may work, and regardless of what stage you’ve reached in your career, just ten minutes of your time gives us the evidence to advocate for systemic change and enables us to target support where it’s needed the most. The stronger the response from the people who power this industry, the stronger the mandate for change.”
