Vodafone Spain and Orange have completed deals with Mediapro to provide coverage of La Liga for the next three seasons.

The deal, which also includes coverage of Spain’s domestic cup, the Copa del Rey, has reportedly been finalised for a figure in the region of €300 million.

The move means telecom giant Telefonica will lose its exclusive rights at the end of this season.

Vodafone will be able to provide eight matches per day to its subscribers, which will be available via the Ono fibre network and xDSL TV, as well as the Vodafone TV Online OTT service.

The joint venture will also see Vodafone and Orange look to sub-license the rights to interested parties.
