Orange enters discussions to divest Globecast

Orange is in exclusive negotiations with investment company Verdoso about a potential deal that could close by the end of 2026

Orange has entered into exclusive negotiations with investment fund Verdoso regarding the divestment of its managed services provider, Globecast.

Globecast supports TV channels, rights holders and platform operators in distributing and broadcasting their content worldwide. The company relies on a worldwide network of teleports and operations centres, operated 24/7.

According to a statement from Orange, the acquisition by Verdoso would provide Globecast with “a reference shareholder capable of supporting the company in the rollout of its next-generation offers and strengthening its position in a structurally shifting market”.

Should the deal go ahead, it’s expected to be completed by the end of 2026, said Orange.

Verdoso, which is based in Paris, has carried out more than 35 acquisitions since its creation in 1997. Its 13 portfolio companies currently represent nearly €600 million in combined revenue and 2,600 employees.

Orange is also reportedly looking to sell its video security and platform subsidiary, Viaccess-Orca.
