Orange ‘considering selling Viaccess-Orca’

According to reports in France, Orange is testing the water before deciding whether to proceed with a sale

Orange is reportedly looking into selling off its video security and platform subsidiary, Viaccess-Orca.

According to L’Informé, Orange is working with investment bank Oddo BHF to explore interest in the company.

The report suggests Orange is testing the water before deciding whether to proceed with a sale.

Viaccess’s traditional business model is under pressure due to the move away from hardware integrated into pay TV operators’ set-top boxes, and towards software solutions embedded directly in connected TVs.

Orange has not commented on the report. The company reportedly put its managed services provider Globecast up for sale towards the end of 2025.
