Viaplay set for international push

Streamer will launch in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the United States in 2021

Nordic Entertainment Group has announced plans to launch its streaming service in 10 international markets by 2023, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the United States in 2021.

The company said it is aiming to double its Viaplay paying subscriber base in the Nordics to approximately 6 million, and grow its international subscriber base to approximately 4.5 million.

Viaplay will arrive in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in March 2021, followed by in Poland in August. The streaming service will debut in the United States in late 2021.

NENT said it intends to bring Viaplay to a further five European markets by the end of 2023 and is expected to attract approximately 4.5 million international subscribers by the end of 2025.

Earlier this year, the company announced plans to launch Viaplay in a further 15 countries by the end of 2025.
