Italian government set to introduce streaming quality rules

Follows outages and issues with the streaming quality of DAZN's coverage of Serie A

The Italian government is reportedly planning to launch new rules aimed at ensuring viewers see the best possible quality when streaming content.

It follows problems with picture quality and blockages reported by viewers watching DAZN’s coverage of Serie A.

The streamer has also suffered three major outages since it took over the rights to the football league earlier this year.

According to Reuters, the Italian government is preparing new requirements in terms of service quality during the transmission of special events including football matches.

Italy’s regulator AGCOM is expected to announce details of the new rules in the coming days.
