Channel 4 automates streaming app QA testing

Witbe's technology tests and monitors the app across multiple devices, providing Channel 4 with an accurate picture of the quality of experience its viewers receive at home

Channel 4 has selected technology from Witbe to automate QA testing for its streaming app.

Witbe’s technology tests and monitors the app across multiple devices, providing Channel 4 with an accurate picture of the quality of experience its viewers receive at home.

The broadcaster is using Witbe’s Witbox+, the company’s most powerful monitoring solution, which is capable of testing four 4K devices simultaneously.

With Witbe’s Remote Eye Controller (REC) — part of the company’s Software Suite of solutions — Channel 4’s QA testing team can also access real devices remotely from anywhere in the world, said Witbe.

“We offer the Channel 4 streaming service across a wide range of consumer devices, and our mission is to deliver a first-class consumer experience across all of them,” said Dave Cameron, chief product officer at Channel 4. “This new partnership with Witbe empowers our testing teams to work much more efficiently with the help of reliable automated technology to do just that.”
