RTL Deutschland partners with Cambridge University to explore responsible use of AI

As well as looking at the role AI can play in RTL News, they also analysed best practices and opportunities for a media company

RTL Deutschland has worked with Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, to investigate where generative artificial intelligence can be of most use to broadcasters.

The broadcaster worked with students from Cambridge Judge to identify and further develop new AI application areas along the entire value chain – from content planning to production, distribution and marketing.

As well as looking at the role AI can play in RTL News, they also analysed best practices and opportunities for a media company, such as attracting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as advertisers, said the broadcaster.

Speaking about the project, Max Orgonyi, chief strategy officer at RTL Deutschland, said: “The collaboration with the team from Cambridge, home to many of the most innovative AI companies, was analytical, pragmatic, and inspiring.

“It highlighted where further opportunities lie for us in the use of AI. For example, AI opens up new opportunities to attract SMEs as advertisers for TV and streaming. We are now increasingly focusing on this.”
