Pixotope Technologies has announced the unification of its platform, bringing its entire technology stack together in a single solution..
Beginning the project, Pixotope Zone video-based tracking system for sports venues moves onto Windows OS and integrates with the Pixotope platform and interface.
Marcus B. Brodersen, CEO of Pixotope, said, “Customers have historically bought virtual production tools one at a time, weighing which parts they could justify. That held them back, which held us back. Pixotope does well when virtual production does well, so we have stopped selling parts. Whatever first brought a customer to us, whether it was our XR solution or our unique through-the-lens tracking; they now have all of it on one platform. We would rather they have access to the tools they need, when they need them, than ration them.”
Launched as three editions, the consolidation aims to provide a reliable solution for virtual production teams, offering full access to the entire Pixotope suite.
Free to download with no licensing, Pixtope Discovery enables users to evaluate, teach and demonstrate ahead of full commitment with a feature-limited HD configuration.
Designed for virtual studio and augmented reality work, Pixotope Core is a complete production platform enables live broadcast video, chroma keying, the full operational layer, Artist design seats and camera tracking for any scenario.
Pixotope Max aims to meet full enterprise broadcast needs. In addition to the Core features, it includes Videowall and XR capabilities, server redundancy, IP video and advanced compositing and integration, enabling the production of demanding virtual content at scale.
Integrating with existing graphics and camera tracking systems, Pixotope features an extensive protocol library including OpenTrack I/O alongside a comprehensive open API and free SDK, said the company.
Existing Maintenance and Support agreements can continue their current terms, with updates and services continuing. Customers will have the option to move across to the new platform. Subscription customers will move into the new editions automatically, Users with AR, Virtual Studio, Vision or Fly transition to Core while anyone on XR will transition to Max, with pricing holding in both instances.
“We are removing every reason a team would settle for less than its best work,” said Brodersen. “Give people the whole platform, keep it open, keep it moving as technology moves, and stay beside them when it matters, so they go virtual with confidence. That serves them, and it serves us.”
