Post production workflow operating system Origami Platform has added a set of new capabilities covering areas such as artificial intelligence, media asset management and audio.
The additions include Collections, a new approach to packaging and delivering media that removes the need for manual file reorganisation at every handoff point in the pipeline.
Tom Mitchell, Origami CTO, said: “You no longer need to ‘manage‘ your media manually; the system does it for you. With Origami Collections, you can search across all connected storage simultaneously and deliver custom-structured packages in seconds. One collection, multiple deliveries, and finally, zero manual reorganisation.”
Origami is also launching unified audio and picture conforming, a capability the company said doesn’t currently exist anywhere else in the market.
With the new release, a single EDL, AAF, Final Cut Pro XML or OpenTimeIO timeline with both audio and picture can be conformed in one Origami job. UMID-based matching correctly assembles multi-file production audio, where sound mixer recordings span separate files, and delivers them as a unified, properly labelled master clip.
A native MCP integration for all AI agent models has also been included, giving users a conversational interface into the platform’s metadata.
Meanwhile, format support for lossless trimming now covers ProRes (all variants), Avid DNxHD and DNxHR, MXF (OP Atom and Panasonic AVC), Canon RAW, Blackmagic RAW, Phantom/Cine, and production audio in BWF and WAV.
