France Télévisions has announced plans to stream over 100 hours of coverage from this year’s French Open tennis tournament in 8K.
The broadcaster is teaming up with Orange to stream matches from across the tournament over 5G.
There will be 17 cameras on the main Philippe Chatrier Court and 14 cameras on the Suzanne Lenglen Court. There will also be dedicated netcams and a Spidercam above Chatrier.
France Télévisions is installing an 8K platform where invited visitors will be able to watch the production process. The 8K signal will be available on DTH platform Fransat and Orange TV and 8K pictures in the France Télévisions showroom.
France 2, France 3 and France 4 will also broadcast coverage in HD.
