BT Sport aims to deliver the ‘Ultimate’ viewing experience

New channel delivers content in UHD, HDR and Dolby Atmos

BT Sport is launching a new channel that will deliver pictures and sound in ultra-high-definition (UHD), high dynamic range (HDR) and – exclusively via BT TV – Dolby Atmos sound.

BT Sport Ultimate replaces BT Sport 4K UHD channel. The broadcaster is also making its content available in HDR on mobile phones.

BT Sport Ultimate is available to BT TV customers and EE 5G pay monthly customers. According to the broadcaster, it will soon extend to other BT Sport customers, such as EE 4G pay monthly customers and those who watch via the BT Sport App or via Sky.

BT Sport’s first live match in HDR will be this Sunday’s FA Community Shield match between Liverpool and Manchester City.

Pete Oliver, managing director marketing of BT’s consumer division, said: “The launch of BT Sport Ultimate means BT is first to market with the launch of a new innovation, allowing our customers to take the sports viewing experience on mobile to a level unmatched anywhere. This is the latest step in our Best Connected plan, to offer our customers the best content and the best technology, through partnerships with the world’s most innovative companies.”
