Timeline TV has signed a four-year deal with the BBC to provide OB facilities for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The company will provide outside broadcast, RF and post-production facilities for the annual event.
Timeline’s UH2 OB truck was used by the BBC as the main production vehicle for this year’s coverage, employing two edits and an EVS operation and sound and vision.
Seven radio cameras were used across the site for the live and “as live” pieces, whilst three cabled studio cameras were provided for the live show each evening on BBC One.
The production also employed 40 radio mics, eight TV and radio IEMs channels, and 10 talkback channels.
Timeline set up nine edit areas onsite as well as three ingest stations and three EVS machines, all networked with shared storage and access to graphics. Post-production facilities were sent to BBC Bristol for them to prepare VT packages in advance of the show.
