High-end visual effects company Rodeo FX has worked with the Saudi Tourism Authority on a new two-minute advert.
This Land is Calling blends science fiction with reality, and features cinematography directed by Antoine Bardou-Jacquet, and visual effects led by Rodeo FX.
Franck Lambertz, VFX supervisor and head of Rodeo FX’s Paris studio orchestrated the first advertising project from the company’s Paris location.
“The ambition for this film was high, and the footage shot in Saudi Arabia was stunning. Rodeo has specialized for many years in creating environments. Under Antoine’s precise and inspiring vision, our matte painting and compositing teams eagerly rose to the challenge. The work was diverse: matte painting, FX, CGI creatures, and extensive compositing,” said Lambertz.
The advert was worked on by Rodeo FX’s teams in Montreal and Paris, with Lambretz describing the film as “a perfect project for our first commercial film at Rodeo FX Paris”.
