Final Pixel launches international training courses to fill virtual production skills gap

The Final Pixel Academy will run courses at all levels across the virtual production workflow

Global creative studio Final Pixel is launching a training academy to help train the next generation of virtual production artists, technicians, producers and directors.

All of the courses run by the academy will be available internationally.

Earlier this month, StoryFutures Academy warned the UK is facing a virtual production skills gap as demand for the technology rises.

The Final Pixel Academy will run courses at all levels across the virtual production workflow, including creating Unreal environments optimised for virtual production and teaching the skills needed for an on-set virtual production crew.

According to the company, the curriculum will be based on the workflow learnings and on-set experiences that Final Pixel has working in ‘The Mandalorian style’ virtual production and multiple end-to-end large scale shoots, including projects for Discovery, and Disney/ABC.

Monica Hinden, Final Pixel’s executive producer, said, ‘’What sets Final Pixel Academy apart is that we are sharing the latest knowledge and on-set experience in workflow, technology and practices so that we can further the virtual production field collectively. There are lots of training courses on the market talking about virtual production, but we are sharing our first hand experience while we trial and work with the latest technology.”
