TAMS API specification version 8.2 released

Version 8.2 is built directly on community feedback regarding ideas to make implementing TAMS simpler and more capable

The latest version of Time Addressable Media Store (TAMS) has been released, featuring “major additions that expand what TAMS can do and how implementations can be deployed at scale.”

TAMS is an open-source, software-defined technology that aims to break down broadcast barriers.

Version 8.2 is built directly on community feedback regarding ideas to make implementing TAMS simpler and more capable, said the TAMS community.

Updates include native support for media formats that use initialisation segments, including fragmented MP4 (fMP4), CMAF, and MPEG-DASH.

The new version also includes a Profile resource, a reusable template of technical parameters that can be referenced when creating a Flow.

Full details about the update are available at the TAMS website.
