Shure has introduced the MVX2U Gen 2 Digital Audio Interface, a single-channel solution for XLR microphones that offers studio-quality sound on the move.
The Gen 2 model adds more advanced, onboard digital audio processing, controllable through the MOTIV desktop and mobile apps across iOS, Android, and desktop devices, said the company.
The solution transforms dynamic and condenser XLR microphones into a professional, ready-to-record podcasting or livestreaming rig, providing up to +60 dB of ultraclean gain and 48V phantom power for everything from an SM7B to condenser microphones, all without the need for external preamps, said Shure. Its USB-C cable delivers both power and audio for a simple and reliable setup.
The Gen 2 works with Shure’s MOTIV apps, enabling users to customise tone, EQ, compression, and limiting.
Features include auto-level mode, real-time denoiser and digital ‘popper stopper’. The MVX2U Gen 2 automatically stores the last-used audio processing settings, preserving the user’s preferred sound profile even when switching between devices.
“Whether it is plugged directly into a microphone or used as an inline connection, this compact interface is packed with features that elevate how creators capture audio across phones, tablets, and desktops,” said Eduardo Valdes, associate vice president of global marketing and product management at Shure.
