ITV leverages Accedo’s application frameworks for ITVX

Working alongside ITV's in-house teams, Accedo has developed the video service for a number of platforms

ITV’s new streaming service ITVX is employing technology from Accedo to deliver over 10,000 hours of content across both its free and subscription tiers.

Working alongside ITV’s in-house teams, Accedo has developed the video service for a number of platforms, including Youview, Freeview, Android TV, Freesat, Roku, Samsung Tizen, Samsung Orsay, and Xbox, as well as for the ITVX website.

Building on, and replacing the existing ITV hub and ITV Hub+, ITVX has been developed with a completely new technology and user architecture, leveraging Accedo’s client-side application frameworks, resulting in significant performance improvements, said the company.

Enhanced data capability enables ITV to to deliver a highly personalised service for viewers across the UK, added the company.
