Haivision has unveiled the latest addition to its family of 5G mobile video transmitters. Designed to meet the remote production needs of live sports and news operations, the Falkon X4 enables the transmission of 4K/UHD, HD, and HDR video streams from anywhere.
Aiming to deliver exceptional connectivity, throughput stability and multi-network resilience, Falkon X4 features four 5G modems, each with 2×2 MIMO for eight total cellular antennas. The solution delivers end-to-end ultra-low latency when operating across private 5G networks, ensuring interactivity and responsiveness for broadcast teams. Haivision’s SST technology enables bonding 5G, 4G, WiFi, Ethernet, and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connections, said the company, ensuring continuity in all environments.
Driven by HEVC and H.264 encoding, Falkon X4 maximises bandwidth efficiency while ensuring image quality is maintained. Featuring both an intuitive touchscreen and browser-based interface, the solution can be configured and managed in the field by camera operators and engineers. Additionally, remote control allows operators to focus on capturing footage. Rugged and portable, Falkon X4 can be camera-mounted or carried in a backpack. An internal battery ensures transmission is uninterrupted during battery swaps.
