Chello DMC, an international provider of advanced playout and content management solutions, is to make IBC TV News available to nearly one million customers as video-on-demand content on the UPC cable TV platform in the Netherlands, UPC On Demand. The delivery of IBC TV News content to UPC On Demand will be demonstrated live at the Chello DMC stand at IBC. File based remote playout and management of content delivery over-the-top (OTT) to the iPad and Android apps for Chellomedia’s Dutch premium channel Sport1 will also be showcased. The demonstration of workflows managed by Chello DMC are to show how content is received, processed, transcoded and distributed to the relevant platforms by a combination of fibre, satellite or internet. Content from IBC TV News, such as daily news stories featuring top exhibitors and the latest highlights from the conference, will be made available to viewers on the UPC cable platform. Chello DMC will take the content and metadata and deliver it to its Amsterdam broadcast facility over the internet using a high-speed IP based content server. From here the content and metadata is processed and repurposed before being forwarded to UPC. Rick Phelps, head of VoD Operations at Chello DMC said: “By demonstrating our VoD workflow for content delivery to a cable platform we will be offering a unique glimpse into our in-house developed workflow.”1.D39
