Univision News has announced its first foray into virtual reality with the launch of new documentary series, In Danger of Deportation.
The series, which launches in the middle of the ongoing row over restrictions on immigration into the US from seven countries, is available on Google Cardboard or any other VR headset as well as in 360-degree streaming through the Univision YouTube app – viewers can enhance the experience by moving their device.
The project presents the stories of seven undocumented immigrants face the prospect of deportation by the Trump administration – ranging from Valdemar and his daughter, who came to the US ten days before the 2016 presidential election to a mother of two children in the US military who is currently under protection by the “Parole in Place” programme.
