Blackmagic Design has announced the launch of a new digital film camera that introduces advanced technologies with total integration into the post production workflow.
The USRA Cine 2K includes a new large format RGBW 36 x 24mm sensor with larger photo-sites for 16 stops of dynamic range, interchangeable PL, LPL and EF lens mounts, and industry standard Lemo and Fischer connections.
The camera includes 8TB of storage built in and as well as high speed networking for media upload and syncing to Blackmagic Cloud.
The new sensor has been designed for “incredible quality images” at all resolutions from 4K to a 12K, said the company.
URSA Cine is the first digital film camera with ultra fast high capability Cloud Store technology built in, added Blackmagic.

There’s been no expense spared in designing this camera and we think it will truly revolutionise all stages of production from capture to post!”
The company has also unveiled DaVinci Resolve 19, which adds new AI tools, over 100 feature upgrades such as IntelliTrack AI, Ultra NR noise reduction, ColorSlice six vector grading, film look creator FX, multi source editing, new multipoly rotoscoping tools, new Fairlight AI audio panning to video, ducker track FX and ambisonic surround.
