Vodafone Portugal has launched The QYou’s linear channel on its IPTV service, Vodafone TV.
The service went live on 1st February, airing to almost 400,000 subscribers across the country.
The deal is planned to increase the attractiveness of the IPTV service with the addition of short-form, shareable content.
“The world of online video is not just popular amongst millennials; as a content provider we see a demand for it right across all demographics of our customer base,” said Antonio Margato, consumer marketing director for Vodafone Portugal.
“We continually strive to ensure that we are evolving our service offerings in line with the tastes and preferences of today’s consumers and this is why we have chosen to include The QYou on Vodafone TV.
“We believe that successful providers must look to the future and start to bring the best of web content to TV subscribers in an easy-to-access format.”
The deal is The QYou’s first forage into the Portuguese market, and follows their recent step into the the Netherlands.

The QYou, which launched in 2014, is available in more than 35 countries.
