Latest round in Mediaset v Vivendi court battle postponed until late May

Hearing was due to take place on 30th April

A court in Milan will not issue its decision on Vivendi’s request to block Mediaset’s planned pan-European broadcaster until 28th May at the earliest.

According to Reuters, the hearing was originally die to take place on 30th April but has been postponed by the on-going coronavirus pandemic.

Vivendi has submitted an application to suspend Mediaset’s plan to set up MediaForEurope, a new entity that will be based in the Netherlands.

Mediaset’s corporate reorganisation plan remains on hold after a Spanish regional court rejected the Italian broadcaster’s appeal against a temporary suspension order handed down last October.
