Broadcast Solutions Group has announced it has acquired specialist camera technology company, PMT Professional Motion Technology GmbH.
The acquisition will see PMT merge with recent Broadcast Solutions acquisition, Egripment Deutschland GmbH. The companies will operate jointly under the established PMT name with the Egripment brand remaining integral to the group through its Dutch headquarters, rental operations and manufacture of camera support equipment, said the company.
PMT will continue operations from its Hamburg and Cologne locations. The management structure is being reorganised with former PMT shareholder and MD, Christian Gärtner, handing over to Maximilian Breder as CEO and Philip von Senden as COO with responsibility for sales and marketing. Gärtner will continue to act as a consultant, supporting the transition to ensure continuity, said the company.

Tim Ritter as CTO and Martin Dreesbach as CTIO for Egripment and PMT will provide technical leadership with a focus on innovation across both companies. Additionally, Dreesbach will act as R&D manager for Egripment and development partner for the Broadcast Solutions Group’s CTO Office.
According to Broadcast Solutions, the acquisition aims to build a strong foundation for innovative special camera systems products and services, widening its market position in the GSA region across sports, entertainment and live events.
Egripment Camera Support’s product development capability in the Netherlands will continue to support the rental business, enabling the development of new products and adaptions to meet customer requirements.
Commenting, Gärtner said, “23 years of PMT has been full of ideas, challenges, and success with a fantastic team. Now, with Broadcast Solutions as our partner, PMT is ready for the future. I look forward to supporting this transformation.”
“For years, PMT has stood for quality and innovation in camera motion systems,” added von Senden, COO of PMT. “Together with Broadcast Solutions Group, we will build on these strengths and offer a broader portfolio and top service.”
Dreesbach said, “This combination makes perfect sense. We have known and respected each other for years within the same market. By working together and as part of the strong Broadcast Solutions Group, we can better support our customers – with greater capacity and international reach. Through integrated product development, we are also able to respond to individual requirements with bespoke solutions.”
