BT Sport to broadcast UEFA matches in Dolby Atmos

Will mark the first time Dolby Atmos has been used for a UEFA Champions League or Europa League match.

BT Sport has announced it will broadcast two UEFA Europa League matches in Dolby Atmos.

It will be the first time Dolby Atmos has been used for a UEFA Champions League or Europa League match.

The two games, Manchester United vs St Etienne and Manchester City vs AS Monaco, will be available on BT Sport’s 4K UHD channel.

The broadcaster debuted the first ever Premier League match using Dolby Atmos sound in January when Liverpool played Chelsea at Anfield.

Jamie Hindhaugh, chief operating officer BT TV and BT Sport, said: “BT Sport is always aiming to be innovative, and Dolby Atmos sound is a fantastic addition for viewers watching the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

“We’ve already shown four Premier League matches in Dolby Atmos sound so far this year and I’m delighted that BT Sport is delivering the same immersive experience for the UEFA Champions League and Europa League. We want viewers to truly feel the atmosphere of the stadium when watching games BT Sport.”
