Lawo has released details of its work to equip TVN Live Production’s latest OB truck.
The outside broadcasting services company unveiled its TVN-Ü8UHD truck at IBC2024. Described as the most powerful OB truck on TVN’s European fleet, it features 39 workstations across its 120 square metres with Lawo’s networked systems integrated throughout.
Lawo’s VSM (Virtual Studio Manager) broadcast control system enables control and orchestration over the entire production network, aiming to minimise setup time and simplify workflows.

Audio capability is provided by two Lawo mc² mixing consoles: the Lawo mc²56 MkIII with a redundantly designed A__UHD core audio engine, and the Lawo mc²36 MkII All-in-One console with internal A__UHD core technology. Allowing precise and flexible handling of 3D audio, Dolby Atmos and other formats, the consoles provide ultra-low latency signal routing and real-time monitoring and include full support for the 5.1.4 monitoring setup used in the truck.
Lawo IP infrastructure offers complete networked audio solutions with the ability to simultaneously process multiple independent signals, enabling HD and UHD production in tandem for events requiring parallel workflows, said the company. In addition, the infrastructure features full redundancy.
Future-proofed to meet the new standards of evolving immersive audio experiences, the truck’s acoustically calibrated audio spaces and Lawo’s processing enable the TVN production team to deliver immersive experiences to a worldwide audience during events such as concerts and live sports. The TVN-Ü8UHD made its production debut at a large European football tournament, handling multiple independent signal streams and delivering UHD/HDR content to a global audience.
Markus Osthaus, CEO of TVN Live Production, said, “The TVN-Ü8UHD represents a new milestone in outside broadcasting. Thanks to our partnership with Lawo, we can offer a solution that delivers unparalleled flexibility and scalability while maintaining the highest standards in UHD/HDR video and 3D audio production. For audio, Lawo’s IP technology is at the heart of this capability, enabling us to meet the growing demands of complex, large-scale productions.”
