Lawo has released details of a collaboration with brutal güet.
Swiss broadcast service provider brutal güet has debuted a new OB truck based around Lawo’s AoIP infrastructure. A Lawo mc²56 MkIII production console with 48 faders forms the centre of the audio production setup, running on a redundant A__UHD Core licensed for 256 DSP channels. Featuring a software-defined architecture providing up to 1,024 DSP channels within a compact 1RU housing, the core provides native support for SMPTE ST2110, AES67, and RAVENNA, enabling fully IP-based signal processing. The design aims to maximise operational reliability and scalability for brutal güet, enabling complex audio configurations and simultaneous multilingual broadcasts.
A comprehensive feature set including immersive audio workflows, snapshot automation, loudness metering, and direct integration of Waves plug-ins ensures the mc²56 MkIII console is able to meet the needs of challenging live productions such as sports broadcasts and classical concert mixes.
Lawo A__stage80 and A__stage48 I/O units handle signal distribution. The A__stage80 offers 32 mic/line inputs, 32 line outputs, and 8 AES3 stereo I/Os, and supports ST2022-7 seamless protection switching for redundant networking. Both units feature Class A microphone preamps, MADI interfaces, and dual IP ports.
Managing the infrastructure, a Lawo HOME platform automatically detects and securely integrates compatible devices with a centralised UI enabling configuration. The platform supports NMOS IS-04/05, IEEE 802.1x, and RADIUS, offering security and flexibility. The latest HOME 4.0 release and HOME Pass licensing model enable precise scaling, with only active devices requiring a licence, meeting the changing needs of dynamic productions.
Designed with modular construction by Broadcast Solutions, the truck is based on its Streamline concept and tailored to need. The front section houses the video control area featuring a Sony MLS-1 vision mixer for UHD/HDR productions, as well as Slomo and multifunction workstations in an expandable bay. The Lawo mc²56 MkIII console is located in the centre section with the rear including camera shading and technical control workstations, plus server racks and the hi human interface system for centralised process automation.
Jonas Zurbriggen, COO of brutal güet, commented. “The combination of the mc²56 and HOME has fundamentally streamlined our production workflows. We can configure complex setups in no time, automatically integrate devices into the network, and react flexibly to new requirements—without manual IP configuration or lengthy prep work. With Lawo, we can reliably manage parallel commentary feeds in German, French, and Italian—all from one compact yet powerful vehicle,”
