Thematic VoD services will now be featured on Hisense smart TVs worldwide, following a partnership deal between the VoD services company and Chinese consumer electronics house.
MoffettNathanson revealed recently that during Q1 of 2015, the pay-TV industry lost an estimated net total of 86,000 subscribers – marking the first time the cable industry sustained an actual net loss, and the signalling potential end of traditional content consumption. Vonetize provides content services to smart TVs and connected devices with a focus on emerging economies, and is already distributing video content to millions of viewers worldwide.
“We are thrilled to partner with a booming smart TV provider like Hisense, which boasts an expanding global dominance in consumer electronics,” commented Vonetize CEO Noam Josephides. “Vonetize is a technology company committed to making great video content accessible through smart devices in global markets, and working with Hisense positions us to enable more consumers worldwide to watch the highest quality content from the comfort of their very own living rooms.”
“"As one of the world's leading providers of high-end smart TVs, Hisense is delighted to introduce Vonetize content services on our smart TV globally,” said Stephen Yao, director of multimedia product planning department at Hisense. “The variety of Vonetize's thematic VoD apps enable our consumers to access premium, high quality content at a compelling user experience and video quality of up to 4K which complements the quality of our product line."
Hisense smart TV owners will easily be able to enjoy content on Vonetize’s global channels, including the Bollywood HD Movie Channel, Baby Channel, ChefTV, Planet Knowledge, Total Music, celebrity news channel SCOOP!, and more. Vonetize’s new relationship with Hisense is the latest in a series of partnerships with global device manufacturers, ISPs and mobile providers, making Vonetize accessible on almost 50 per cent of the world’s smart TVs.
