Italian broadcaster Mediaset has launched a new multi-platform streaming app, named Mediaset Play.
It gives viewers free access to the broadcaster’s live TV channels as well as on-demand access to TV and films.
The platform is available via iOS and Android devices, PCs and Smart TVs and replaces the company’s Mediaset On Demand services.
It uses the HbbTV 2.0.1 standard to give users access to channels such as Canale 5, Rete 4, Italia 1, Italia 2, Focus and TGCom24, among others, with viewers also able to restart live streams.
