re:fine has announced the launch today of re:io, a private online cloud-based content-processing platform for production companies, post houses and distributors.
re:io is a platform for the creation, conversion, processing and delivery of video and audio content, subtitles and metadata. It comes six months after re:fine launched its 24-hour DPP service under the leadership of senior solutions architect Matt Goble, a service that was also created to meet the demands of the new DPP file formatting and delivery requirements.
re:fine then invested £120,000 in upgrading Telestream Vantage, adding storage and purchasing new licences of Vidchecker, Aspera and EFF Enterprise from Emotion Systems to ensure the 24-hour pledge.
The launch of re:io is a further step towards a fully digitised service for re:fine clients. The company’s ultimate aim is to make its internal systems, expertise and workflows available entirely as an online service to facilitate the flow of content between media-owners, producers, broadcasters and platforms.
Goble commented: “we wanted to present our market with a full suite of digital tools that allow professional content producers in TV or film, advertising or the music-industry to create, convert, process and deliver their video and audio content to any end-user, at anytime, anywhere in the world. re:io fulfils that brief.”
