Broadpeak Cloud DVR powers revamped Deutsche Telekom IPTV platform

Broadpeak's scalable architecture provides MagentaTV with storage that can grow from tens to hundreds of petabytes

Broadpeak has announced that Deutsche Telekom has revamped its MagentaTV IPTV platform using the company’s Cloud DVR solution.

The content delivery network (CDN) and video streaming solutions provider said that its Cloud DVR content storage solution enables MagentaTV to record content based on both shared copy and private copy models, meaning each subscriber has its own content copy stored in the cloud. Broadpeak’s scalable architecture provides the IPTV operator with storage that can grow from tens to hundreds of petabytes, said the company.

Acting as the systems integrator, Broadpeak deployed the data centre network design, network, security, servers and software for MagentaTV, said the company. The operator is also utilising Broadpeak’s managed services.

Jacques Le Mancq, Broadpeak CEO, said: “We’re proud to work with a leading IPTV operator like MagentaTV and help them serve more than 4.6 million subscribers. Our Cloud DVR solution provides MagentaTV with a massive scale-out storage capacity, ensuring a superior quality of experience for their subscribers.”
