New VFX house to RISE in London

Will include a state-of-the-art screening room, space for 50 artists and editorial as well as an original traditional British pub

RISE Visual Effects Studios will open its first UK site in London next month.

The London studio will include a state-of-the-art screening room, space for 50 artists and editorial as well as an original traditional British pub for a pint after work as an homage to the early days of VFX in Soho!

The German-based company currently has offices in Berlin, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart, employing 280 artists.

It has worked on a number of high profile projects, including Captain America, The King’s Man, Westworld and Stranger Things.

RISE London’s managing director Lara Lom said, “There has never been a better time than the latter half of 2020 to expand the RISE brand to Great Britain. Obviously, the market has taken a hit from film shoots being put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But, at the same time, the entire film industry is looking to the visual effects companies to help them re-boot the business as we know it, whilst maintaining the highest safety standards for the crews.”

“London is home to the most diverse of creative talent in the world,” added Lom. “It has such a rich filmmaking culture, having always been at the forefront of developments and often even predicting the future of where the industry is heading.”

The office in Holborn is due to open in mid/late September.
