The IT Broadcast Workflow conference, now into its third year, is not about ‘going tapeless’ – that’s a misnomer. In an increasingly interactive world where TV is blending with mobility and social media, this event is really about introducing changes to the workplace to enable TV stations to transition to being media stations with economies of scale in place to produce and deliver electronic media across multiple platforms. It’s about moving from a single-service point-to-point environment to a multi-service networked environment. How do you do that?
European case studies already confirmed for the event include Denis Grison, head of Digitisation Project, Arte (sponsored by EVS OpenCube); Thomas Popma, VP Channel Operations, MTV Networks North (sponsored by MediaGenix); David Roulson, vice president of Engineering, Discovery Communications Europe (sponsored by Front Porch Digital International); and José Enrique Zamorano, technical director Canal Sur (sponsored by Tedial).
A number of further European case studies, and a special keynote, will be announced in coming weeks. Case studies will examine such topics as accessing a common pool of media content from various independent platforms; the technical challenges of converting archives to IT-based files; and the changing role for systems integrators in the broadcast industry.
In addition we’ll host a panel discussion on cloud computing in broadcasting – what is all the fuss about? Fearghal Kelly, VP Media Solutions, Ioko, and Emilio Zapata, founder and CEO of Tedial, will help us understand the basis of cloud computing; key advantages and obstacles in use of the cloud by broadcasters; and comparison of cloud MAM versus traditional MAM solutions.
We are very pleased to announce that our signed-up sponsors already include AmberFin, EVS, Front Porch Digital, Ioko, MediaGeniX, Oasys, Pebble Beach Systems, SGL, Symbox, Tedial, Telestream and TMD.
The IT Broadcast Workflow is TVBEurope’s specialist forum gathering industry players from all concerned fields — broadcasters, software and hardware vendors, system integrators and distributors. Join delegates from all across Europe to explore the latest technologies and processes that will ensure your workflow keeps your business at the forefront of a market in transition.
