Pixel Power has had a busy start to 2008, with multiple contract wins to multiple customers in multiple countries. Equipment purchased includes models from the perennially popular Clarity character generator range (including the first Clarity 300GX to be sold into Vietnam) and the LogoVision channel branding system.

In the UK, Technicolor Network Services (TNS) has purchased 28 LogoVision channel branding systems, as well as additional Pixel Power software to enable automated asset management of the voiceover files held on Technicolor’s servers. TNS will use Pixel Power equipment to provide its main transmission graphics, voiceovers and channel bugs. Meanwhile, Input Media has purchased a Clarity 300 character generator with clip store for installation at the Emirates Stadium to run graphics on Arsenal’s big screen. This follows a similar installation at North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur’s ground, White Hart Lane.

In The Netherlands, RTV West, a regional broadcaster in The Hague, has purchased a Clarity 300 to provide on-air news graphics and feed an in-vision monitor. Key to the purchase was Clarity’s speed when used in a live studio, and the ability to produce both the overlay graphics and the in-vision monitor from a single system. This is the second regional station to install Clarity. Also in The Netherlands, NOB has purchased six Clarity 3000 high-end graphics platforms, upgrading from its current batch of Clarity 300s. The order also includes six HD/SD LogoVisions. NOB Cross Media Facilities (a Technicolor company) provides transmission facilities for the Dutch national television services NOB 1, 2 and 3 as well as for independent channels.

In Greece, Star TV has purchased a second Clarity 500 GX graphics system, while Prague’s KPS Sport, an existing Pixel Power customer, has ordered a Clarity 300 and a Clarity 100 to enhance the station’s graphics power.

Outside Europe, Vietnam’s Broadtech SC has ordered a Clarity 300GX, the first Clarity 300GX to be sold into Vietnam. Broadtech wanted to produce and playout multiple tickers fed automatically from external data providers. These tickers are combined with two live sources with squeeze back capability. And Vietnam Television has purchased two Clarity 300s with video and audio clip stores, to be used for production and playout. The Clarity will provide a complete solution including DVE, 2D and 3D cell animation, multiple live sources, true multi-layering and internal downstream keyer all in the same box.

Finally, in the Middle East one of the company’s existing customers, Emirates Media (Abu Dhabi Television), has ordered four Clarity 3000 CG HD systems for its two new HD outside broadcast trucks.
