The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) has made a number of board changes ahead of IBC, where it will be unveiling a raft of new initiatives and making some major industry announcements.
Mark Harrison, controller of Production for BBC North, will become chair of the DPP, taking over from Helen Stevens, director of Broadcast Operations, ITV. He will lead the DPP through the next phase of its development, working with his Board colleagues to ensure delivery from all its workstreams and projects. He will also continue to lead the DPP’s public Forum events.
Harrison commented, “All of us on the DPP Board have been delighted by how quickly the partnership has established itself as a major force for change in broadcasting. We have met a real need from all sectors of the industry for leadership and collaboration around the challenges and potential of going fully digital. IBC is a particular landmark moment for us to make a number of important announcements.”
Helen Stevens remains on the Board, and will now take on leadership of a new DPP workstream on Delivery and Distribution. She served as the DPP’s first chair for three years since its formation in 2010.
Andy Tennant, technology director Studios ITV, will assume responsibility for the DPP’s Training Collaborations. In this role, he will oversee relationships with Creative Skillset and BBC Academy, with particular focus on the DPP’s current work on defining core digital skills with Creative Skillset and UK Screen.
Bryan Phillips, project manager, will take on the new role of business development manager. Rachel Baldwin returns to the role of project manager, and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the DPP. Jayne de Ville, formerly assistant project manager, takes on the new role of Events and Marketing manager.
