On 9 June the Ultra HD conference will open as part of the 13th European Digital Forum in Lucca, Italy.

The Ultra HD Forum is a global advocacy body with a mission to facilitate the adoption of UHD, and its related technologies, bringing together the main players in television, film, media, and production.

The event will offer a platform for establishing guidelines for the implementation of a broad scope of new UHD technologies, including Wide Colour Gamut (WCG), High Dynamic Range (HDR), High Frame Rate (HFR) and Next Generation Audio (NGA) through keynotes and a roundtable discussion as part of this conference.

The conference will feature some of the industry’s leading experts and the best international broadcasters, content producers, distribution platforms, and consumer electronics companies. The event coincides with the Ultra HD Forum’s appointment of Comunicare Digitale is its new partner.

“The European Digital Forum has been an excellent venue attracting decision makers from all sectors of the TV and media industry,” said David Price, vice president, business development for TV and media at Ericsson and a founder and board member of the Ultra HD Forum. “It has consistently maintained an agenda encouraging dialog on the increasing level of innovation that is creating new media business models and new and exciting television viewing experiences.”

“Hosting an event of this level in Italy is a source of great prestige and joy,” said Andrew M. Michelozzi, president of Comunicare Digitale. “Lucca companies and personalities of great importance will work to reinforce the growth of UHD. We are grateful to the board and to the members for such an extraordinary occasion.”

The Ultra HD Conference programme is available online.

The conference runs 9-10 June 2016, coinciding with the UEFA European Championships in France, and will embrace highest quality images, top sports production, content offerings, and offer live broadcast coverage in Lucca.
