Telstra Broadcast Services acquires MediaCloud

All employees, customers and suppliers will move to Telstra as part of the deal

Telstra Broadcast Services is expanding its media management offering following the acquisition of MediaCloud Pty.

The company, previously owned by Deluxe, had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States. Financial details of the acquisition have not been revealed.

All employees, customers and suppliers will move to Telstra as part of the deal.

MediaCloud specialises in internet delivery, media management, playout, and managed streaming. The deal also gives Telstra a new London Master Control Room, equipped to support major global companies and events.

According to Andreas Erikkson, head of Telstra Broadcast Services, MediaCloud “fits really well into Telstra’s global media network, our strategy and where we are as a company.”

“We want to broaden our services and have been growing our media management offering over last few years,” he added. “Adding these leading new capabilities alongside TBS’s existing global fibre and satellite networks sets us up to meet the evolving needs of the broadcast market as well as expand our value proposition to our global client base by providing a world-class broadcast operations in London.

“The new capabilities will help broadcasters deploy new services and channels to respond to special events, programming opportunities and new markets in these changing times,” added Eriksson.
