MediaKind has announced a strategic agreement with Slovak Telekom.
Deploying its Aquila Broadcast compression, monitoring and control solution on-premises, across Slovak Telekom’s local cloud-ready infrastructure, MediaKind aims to enable the company to ensure video quality across all video distribution platforms. The solution also provides Slovak Telekom with options for hybrid cloud environments. Redundancy schemes will ensure robust, continuous service delivery, said the company.
MediaKind’s AI Compression Technology (ACT) enables real-time optimisation of video quality by analysing content and adjusting codecs. The technology ensures bandwidth usage is minimised, allowing multiple codecs and resolutions to be handled, including MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC, and HEVC.
Slovak Telekom’s Juraj Matejka said, “Aquila Broadcast represents the next chapter in our longstanding partnership with MediaKind, ensuring that our viewers receive the highest quality content, delivered with the efficiency and reliability they expect. This migration not only preserves the investments we’ve made in our current headend but also positions us to meet the growing demands of our customers by embracing cloud-native solutions that are both scalable and adaptable.”
MediaKind’s chief technology officer, Boris Felts, added, “Our partnership with Slovak Telekom is a prime example of how MediaKind’s solutions can provide a smooth transition from legacy systems to modern, cloud-ready architectures. Our leadership in the media technology space means we are well equipped to provide telecom operators and multi-video programming distributors with the tools they need to transform their services without significant upfront investments or service disruptions. Aquila Broadcast enhances operational efficiency and offers a clear path for future upgrades, enabling Slovak Telekom to tailor the viewing experience to meet the demands of tomorrow’s viewers.”
