Dalet has announced Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) has deployed a range of its solutions.
The Irish public service broadcaster aims to enhance its content delivery and processes through the development of a new content management ecosystem. Named “One Media Share,” the system enables the integration of around 1.3 million hours of content currently siloed across 19 separate storage facilities.
Dalet’s platform provides standardised metadata enabling ease of access to in-production content, nearline stored digital content and archived content stored on tape, said the company.
Acting as a foundation to manage the broadcaster’s archival workflows, Dalet’s media asset management (MAM) and workflow orchestration platform will enable flexible collaboration across processes including production and video editing. Additionally, Dalet’s high-density ingest and playout solution will manage content and associated metadata capture.
RTÉ’s CTO and director of operations, Richard Waghorn said, “This partnership with Dalet represents a significant step in the transformation of RTÉ into a modern media organisation. A key element in that transformation is the development of solutions that enable us to deliver our programming and content, including a vast amount of archive material, to our audiences more easily and more effectively. Dalet’s content management ecosystem will ensure we can do that.”
VP of sales EMEA for Dalet, Enrique Lafuente, added, “Dalet has extensive experience bringing together massive disparate storage pools and archives for broadcasters around the world. We’re proud to partner with RTÉ as it enhances its content management, user experience, and to enable new opportunities through our agile solution.”
