Alfalite LED wall enables broadcast monitoring at new Telefónica TSAmediaHUB

Measuring 11.4 metres wide by 2 metres high, the display provides a viewing area of almost 23 square metres

Alfalite has announced it has supplied a new LED wall at Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales’ (TSA) Madrid operations centre.

The HD Finepix 1.2 MATIX AlfaCOB LED wall has been installed in the group’s National Supervision and Operations Centre in Aravaca, Madrid, where a new broadcast and monitoring room supports TSA mediaHUB, Telefonica’s new platform for audiovisual content production, management, processing, storage and distribution.

Providing a viewing area of almost 23 square metres, the display measures 11.4 metres wide by 2 metres high, enabling operators to watch multiple feeds simultaneously and rapidly respond to any issues. The wall’s panoramic display provides a continuous viewing surface, allowing sources to be arranged and compared within a single field of view, the company said.

Integrated servers deliver video feeds over NDI, allowing sources to be distributed and displayed centrally, and enabling layouts to be adapted to meet operational needs. The solution features a 1.2 mm pixel pitch, 7,680 Hz refresh rate and 175-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles.

MATIX AlfaCOB technology minimises reflections and glare with a matt finish and full encapsulation of the LED modules provides enhanced protection against impacts and spills.

Luis Garrido, executive director of Alfalite, commented, “This project brings together exactly the demands we designed UHD Finepix to meet: a mission-critical environment, intensive use and decisions that depend on what operators can see on screen. In a broadcast monitoring room, a seamless image, readability and reliability are essential to the job. Combining a 1.2 mm pixel pitch with MATIX AlfaCOB gives TSA a uniform panoramic display with reduced reflections, built for demanding operations. We are proud that our technology is part of TSAmediaHUB and Telefónica’s move towards more centralised, flexible audiovisual operations.”
