HBO blames distribution partner for House of the Dragon leak

“HBO is aggressively monitoring and pulling these copies from the internet," said a spokesperson for the company

HBO has said it is “aggressively monitoring” the situation after the season finale of House of the Dragon was leaked online.

The company said it appears the leak originated from a distribution partner in the EMEA region.

“HBO is aggressively monitoring and pulling these copies from the internet,” said a spokesperson for the company.

It’s not the first time the world of Westeros has been hit by damaging leaks. In 2015, the first four episodes of Game of Thrones season five were released online well before their official release dates, leading HBO to invest in advanced watermarking ahead of seasons six and seven.
