AWS Elemental MediaLive adds bandwidth reduction filter

According to AWS, the new filter reduces bandwidth and storage while maintaining comparable video quality

Amazon Web Services has introduced a filter to Elemental MediaLive which it says improves video encoding efficiency by an average of seven per cent.

According to AWS, the new filter reduces bandwidth and storage while maintaining comparable video quality and enables users to save on transmission, content distribution, and storage without compromising the viewing experience.

The bandwidth reduction filter is available with Enhanced AVC and HEVC encoding in MediaLive, its broadcast-grade live video processing service.

AWS Elemental MediaLive enables users to create high-quality live video streams for delivery to broadcast televisions and internet-connected multiscreen devices, like connected TVs, tablets, smartphones, and set-top boxes.
