AWS Elemental MediaLive adds support for SRT caller input

MediaLive's SRT caller input enables users to add input to a channel by calling into an available listener source address and port, said AWS

AWS Elemental MediaLive is now able to receive sources using SRT caller, the company has announced.

Secure Reliable Transport (SRT), is an open source video transport protocol which helps deliver video across the internet.

The protocol has two primary connection modes: caller and listener. SRT caller is responsible for initiating the SRT connection and sending the video content to the listener.

The caller is usually found at the source of the video content, such as a camera or encoder. The Caller establishes a connection with the listener by specifying the listener’s IP address and port number.

MediaLive’s SRT caller input enables users to add input to a channel by calling into an available listener source address and port, said AWS.
