Apple confirms European launch date for Apple Vision Pro

visionOS 2 will enable users to watch up to five simultaneous streams so they can keep track of all their favourite sports and teams, said Apple

Apple’s immersive headset Apple Vision Pro will finally go on sale in Europe next month.

The company has revealed it will be available in France, Germany and the UK from July 12th.

“The enthusiasm for Apple Vision Pro has been extraordinary, and we are thrilled to introduce the magic of spatial computing to more customers around the world,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “

We can’t wait for more people to see the impossible become possible, whether working and collaborating with an infinite canvas for apps, reliving treasured memories in three dimensions, watching TV shows and movies in a one-of-a-kind personal cinema, or enjoying brand-new spatial experiences that defy imagination.”

According to Apple, the Vision Pro App Store now features more than 2,000 apps, with streaming services Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ with Hulu, Max, Peacock, Paramount+ with Showtime, Pluto TV, and Tubi all available in the United States. The Apple TV app also includes more than 250 3D films.

Apple also confirmed the release of visionOS 2 which includes enabling users to convert older photos into 3D ‘spatial’ photos.

It also introduces multiviewer capabilities in the Apple TV app for sports fans. “Later this year, fans will be able to watch up to five simultaneous streams so they can keep track of all their favourite sports and teams,” said Apple.
