The BBC has appointed Whisper to deliver the broadcast and digital coverage of this summer’s The Hundred.
The agreement spans eight showpiece live cricket matches, featuring the tournament’s back-to-back women’s and men’s double-header format, including the Finals at Lord’s on Sunday, August 16th.
Whisper said it intends to operate an integrated production model, blending both live and multi-platform digital content production in order to maximise the tournament’s impact across linear television and online.
Whisper Cymru’s Cardiff-based Cymru Broadcast Centre will act as the engine for the tournament’s dual live feeds, said the company.
“We are incredibly proud to be trusted by the BBC to deliver The Hundred for the first time,” said Rob Williams, executive producer at Whisper. “This tournament has entirely reshaped the domestic cricket landscape through its fast-paced format and equal billing for the women’s and men’s games. To look after eight live double-headers, leading right up to the spectacular Finals at Lord’s, is a massive honour for our team.”
